Dr. Brittany Panico Rheumatology

Dr. Brittany Panico, DO

Chief of Rheumatology

Dr. Brittany Panico is a board-certified rheumatologist with over 10 years of experience diagnosing and treating patients with gout and other rheumatic diseases, including psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, and more.

Dr. Panico received her degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She completed both Internal Medicine Residency and Rheumatology Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL and was affiliated with the Edward Hines Jr, VA Hospital in Hines, IL.

After her fellowship, she worked for Northwestern Regional Medical Group in the western suburbs of Chicago. Dr. Panico moved to Phoenix in the summer of 2020 where she previously worked at Banner University Medical Center. She remains a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Arizona-Phoenix.

Dr Richard Horn

W Richard Horn, NP

Rheumatology Specialist, Lupus and Fibromyalgia Specialist

W Richard Horn, NP is one of Arizona’s leading rheumatology specialists. He has a special interest in Lupus and Fibromyalgia and is a well-known clinician in Lupus support groups. His treatment model is a balance between healthy lifestyle and evidence-based medication in a patient/clinician consensus-based approach. He’s an advocate for early Lupus treatment as a means of disease control and follows the philosophy of Dr. William Osler who stated, “listen to your patient he is trying to tell you the diagnosis.”

Richard began his education first in philosophy and Japanese at Kokusai kuristo-kyo Daigaku in Mitaka, Japan. He studied economics and library and information science at the University of Missouri. His education in Nursing and Medicine began at Excelsior University in New York and in Emergency Medical training in the Air Force. Richard received his Nurse Practitioner education at the University of Phoenix.

Richard worked as a medical reference librarian at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1978 and went on to become the manager of the Library and Archives for the Western region of the National Park Service in Tucson in 1983. Richard retired from the Air Force Medical Reserves in 2004.

Richard worked for several years in emergency medicine in the Indian Health Service at Sells, Arizona. In 2009, he joined a Rheumatology practice in Gilbert, Arizona before opening an independent Rheumatology practice, Bonhoeffer Rheumatology Institute, in 2015.

Peter Hennis, NP

Rheumatology Specialist

Peter Hennis, NP is an accredited nurse practitioner through the American College of Rheumatology. He received his  degree from Case Western Reserve University and has clinical experience in the Medical and Neurological Intensive Care Units. He has a specific interest in gout, connective tissue diseases, osteoporosis, and other rheumatic conditions.

Peter has a holistic approach to treatment and values respect and dignity in his patient relationships. His ultimate goal is to help patients regain their functionality and foster education so patients can manage their autoimmune diseases with lifestyle changes.
